Mid-Winter Monday Morning

Hello from snowy Hokkaido! We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's time with both our daughters being home from America along with the young man our oldest is courting. It was a special time of making memories and treasuring the moments. There was often the thought that it was most likely our last Christmas all together in Japan as some of our kids are in the season of pursuing God's will for their lives. I love how in Ephesians 2:10 God tells us we have a purpose and He has a plan for us. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." It never ceases to amaze me though how quickly time marches on. When I was a little girl time went by so slowly. Now I wish time could stand still and I could hang on to the days a little longer with my kids. Winter has set in and the days have become shorter, the darkness longer, the snow deeper, and the temperature colder. Winter here is far from over, and it's not time to look for spring. Rather it is time to rest in the season God has for me outside my window and in my heart and to be found faithful to Him even in the moments the sun isn't shining. "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
